The Yellow-billed Cuckoo seen here came to the Project Wildlife in 2008. Shy birds, they are rarely spotted by even the most avid bird watchers. This species, although not endangered, has not had a thriving population in San Diego since the 1930s, thus the arrival of this bird drew a lot of attention. She was successfully released back into the wild after a few weeks of recovering from hitting a window.
